1. Purpose

These Professional Conduct Guidelines apply to all legal professionals — advocates, lawyers, legal interns, and law students — registered on Nyaya Siddhanta. They are designed to uphold the integrity of the legal profession and ensure a respectful, ethical environment on our platform.

2. Compliance with Bar Council Rules

All advocates and lawyers must comply with:

  • The Bar Council of India Rules under the Advocates Act, 1961
  • The rules of their respective State Bar Council
  • Rules on professional conduct, etiquette, and advertising
  • Rules prohibiting touting and solicitation of clients

3. Accuracy of Information

All registered professionals must:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information in their profiles
  • Upload genuine, unaltered documents for verification
  • Promptly update their profile if any information changes
  • Not misrepresent their qualifications, experience, or credentials

4. Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is strictly prohibited on Nyaya Siddhanta:

  • Impersonating another legal professional
  • Submitting forged or altered documents
  • Making false claims about qualifications or experience
  • Soliciting clients in violation of Bar Council rules
  • Sharing confidential client information on the platform
  • Engaging in discriminatory, abusive, or harassing behaviour
  • Using the platform for any unlawful purpose

5. Confidentiality

Legal professionals must maintain strict confidentiality regarding:

  • Client information and communications
  • Case details and legal strategies
  • Any privileged information shared in professional capacity

The platform must not be used to share or discuss confidential client matters.

6. Reporting Violations

If you observe any conduct that violates these guidelines or the Bar Council rules, please report it to us at conduct@nyayasiddhanta.com. All reports are treated confidentially.

7. Consequences of Violation

Violation of these guidelines may result in:

  • Warning and request to rectify the violation
  • Temporary suspension of your account
  • Permanent removal from the platform
  • Reporting to the relevant Bar Council (for serious violations)
  • Legal action where applicable

8. Amendments

These guidelines may be updated to reflect changes in Bar Council rules or platform policies. Registered professionals will be notified of material changes.
